About Bernard Bassey

Software Engineer, Website and Mobile App Developer

Hi, I'm Bernard Bassey. I build websites, web applications, mobile products and backend systems that solve practical business problems. I am based in Abuja, Nigeria, and work with clients locally and internationally.

Professional profile

Building useful software and practical technology skills

Over the years, I have focused on designing and building modern websites, web applications, mobile applications and backend systems. I approach each product through the problem it needs to solve, the people who will use it and the way it must be maintained after launch.

My client work includes corporate websites, business systems, content platforms and custom web applications. I plan the structure, select an appropriate technology stack and carry the work through development, testing, deployment and handover.

Alongside software delivery, I train aspiring developers through project-based learning. The same principles guide both parts of my work: understand the fundamentals, write code that has a clear purpose and be able to explain the decisions behind it.

Education

Formal training in software engineering and computer science

My education combines focused software-development training with a broader university foundation in computing.

Professional experience

Founder of Fidelity ICT Academy

I founded Fidelity ICT Academy to help aspiring developers learn current web technologies through practical, structured training. Students do more than study theory. They attend instructor-led classes, complete coding assignments and develop applications that demonstrate their skills.

The academy currently provides Frontend Web Development and Backend Web Development training through physical and live online classes. The programmes are designed to support learners preparing for freelance work, employment or software entrepreneurship without promising a particular career outcome.

Software projects

From mobile products to business platforms

I created PuzzleDome, a multi-game Android application featuring word puzzles, trivia, logic challenges and block puzzle games. Building the product involved mobile interface development, backend engineering, user authentication, cloud services, APIs, databases and the architecture required to support several game modes.

My published work also includes SPBO Live Scores and the Timely Renovators business website. These projects provide direct examples of my experience across Android applications, live-data products, responsive websites and technical SEO foundations.

Mission

Software growth and practical skills

To help businesses grow through modern software solutions while equipping the next generation of developers with practical, industry-ready skills.

Vision

Opportunity across Africa and beyond

To build software products and educational programmes that create opportunities for individuals and businesses across Africa and beyond.

04

Business-focused delivery

My approach

Clean, scalable and reliable software

I believe software should solve real problems, remain easy to use and perform reliably as a business grows. That means clarifying the requirement before development, keeping interfaces understandable and avoiding unnecessary complexity.

Whether I am teaching a student or delivering a client product, I focus on maintainable code, honest communication, testing and practical ownership. I remain a continuous learner because tools change, but sound engineering judgement and strong fundamentals continue to matter.
